Saltillo

Austin, Texas

Architect: JHP Architects

Owner: Endeavor Real Estate Group

Rogers-O’Brien helped to transform five city blocks of Austin’s Saltillo, which is located in east downtown Austin.  The heart and soul of Austin, Saltillo is an exciting new development which brings shopping, dining, music and entertainment together to create a unique and vibrant destination bustling with activity. This is an important milestone in the more than 20-year effort by the community and Capital Metro to revitalize this property and increase rail and bus ridership.

Within the Saltillo development, big name tenants such as Target, Whole Foods, OrangeTheory Fitness, CVS Pharmacy, Chipotle, and more have opened in the 115,000 SF of retail and restaurant space.

There is also 150,000 square feet of office space, four below and above ground parking garages, and 1.4 acres of open space and public art.  The Plaza Saltillo District features one of the region’s most diverse mobility infrastructure programs, including the established MetroRail station, plus pedestrian paseos, extension of San Marcos Street, electric vehicle stations, reserved Car2Go spaces, a B-Cycle station and an extension of the Lance Armstrong Bikeway.

The Saltillo project has received high-praise after much anticipation of its opening.

Austin Business Journal named it the 2020 Project of the Year.

Curbed Austin listed it as One of the 10 Most Important Developments of the 2010s.

The project also received the Excellence in Construction Eagle Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Central Texas.
