HOW CASA DE AMIGOS KEPT THE DOORS OPEN THROUGH EVERY PHASE

Keeping Harris Health’s Casa de Amigos clinic open during a comprehensive renovation took grit, adaptability, and a whole lot of teamwork. Over the course of the project, the team tackled a full interior renovation, a 3,000 SF addition, and a brand-new entrance and exterior. All while clinic staff kept treating patients.

Phased construction kept things moving, but it also meant the team had to work around a fully operational clinic every single day. Shutdowns had to be timed just right, noise had to be kept in check, and MEP systems had to stay online. The building itself didn’t make things easy. Untouched since the ’90s, its outdated infrastructure wasn’t exactly built for modern construction. Throw in Houston weather delays and a six-month permit holdup, and the team had every reason to fall behind. Instead, they pushed forward, stayed on track, and got it done.

Now, the once-cramped clinic is a fresh, unified space where Harris Health can serve more patients than ever. Casa de Amigos never stopped showing up for the community, and thanks to a team that refused to back down, it’s ready for whatever comes next.
