“Pulling a bunny out of the hat.” That’s how one project manager described Rogers-O’Brien Equipment Services getting a 500 kVA generator running the same day. From restoring power to personally delivering equipment, the team has given project teams and trade partners plenty to talk about.

One call, less downtime, and construction equipment support that stays involved after delivery.

If power goes out across a trailer compound or a machine needs service, who do you call? For RO project teams and trade partners, the answer is Rogers-O’Brien Equipment Services (ROES).

Emergency Equipment Support When the Project Lost Power

On a large mission-critical project, power went down across the trailer compound.

The RO employees, trade partners, and support teams based there needed a temporary power solution. The project team called ROES. Kye Thornton described the response as “pulling a bunny out of the hat.”

“They got the 500 kVA generator up and operational, and we were back in business within the same day,” Kye Thornton, Project Manager, Rogers-O’Brien Construction said.

ROES stayed involved after power was restored, giving the project one point of contact for providers, service, and follow-up.

“If we have an issue with a piece of equipment, we can call them, and they take it from there. I don’t have to keep following up and asking when someone is coming out. They already have those contacts, and I feel like it gets prioritized better for us,” Ethan Brule, Superintendent, Rogers-O’Brien Construction said.

That support gave the project team fewer issues to track, provided trade partners with a clear path for service and helped keep the client’s project moving.

Jobsite Equipment Support When Plans Change

Trade partners working across RO projects describe the same responsiveness. For Jennifer Song, a project engineer with Southland Industries, timely service helps her team keep working.

“When we need a service technician on site, they usually come within the same day. This helps us complete our work without any delays due to equipment,” Song said.

Mandi Neece, project manager for The Werd Company pointed to the team’s ability to adjust as schedules and site conditions change.

“Construction schedules change constantly, and ROES has always been really good about working with us when plans shift or we need to figure something out quickly. It feels more like working with a partner than just calling an equipment company,” Neece said.

ROES can help identify the correct machine, locate an accessory, coordinate a repair, or adjust a delivery. That support continues after the equipment reaches the project.

Construction Equipment Service Beyond the Rental

ROES stays involved after equipment arrives, helping coordinate repairs, service visits and fuel replenishment.

The team has mechanics who understand jobsite safety requirements. When a third-party technician is needed, ROES can coordinate the visit and share the project’s access, safety, and PPE requirements before the technician arrives. Project teams have one point of contact to help manage the service request and follow-up.

On an Austin project, the team also coordinated and monitored an on-site gas and diesel fuel station, including scheduling replenishment. Having ROES manage those details reduced the field team’s daily coordination and helped keep equipment available for the people performing the work.

Coordinating Equipment Providers and Trade Partners

Scott Voelker, senior project manager with Cherry Coatings, recalled needing a specific air compressor on a Friday. Lynda Hubbard and the Equipment Services team located it, and Lynda delivered it herself.

“Lynda and her team got it handled right away. Lynda delivered it herself, and that is serious customer service,” said Voelker.

On another project, Ewald Kubota and ROES worked together on an urgent equipment request. Ewald Kubota had the machine available, and RO Equipment Services offered a driver to assist with delivery.

Lorne Hodges, sales representative for Ewald Kubota, recalled the team saying, “If you can have it ready in 30 minutes, we can send our driver to assist in delivery.”

“We all worked together and made your customer happy,” Hodges said.

The People Behind RO Equipment Services

For Thornton, knowing who to call, and knowing someone will respond, is one of the team’s strengths

“They’re always a phone call away. If you can’t reach Chris, Byron or Lynda are available, and there’s always someone who will immediately jump on your request,” Thornton said.

Jamin Jones, Select Market Manager of Herc Rentals specifically recognized RO Regional Equipment Managers Kevin Bjork and Byron Jay for their guidance and responsiveness. He also called out Rental Coordinators Ethan Krueger, Lynda Hubbard, and John Kerr for helping trade partners secure equipment under tight timelines.

Brandon Wright, Director of RO Equipment Services, connects that approach to the RO Ride and the team’s commitment to the people it supports.

“The RO Ride is built on collaboration, trust, and an exceptional customer experience. For Equipment Services, that means going above and beyond for our project teams and trade partners across Texas. We take ownership of the request and stay involved until the need is addressed.”

From a 500 kVA generator to a same-day service technician, each example reflects the same approach: responsive people, clear communication and ownership through the full request.

That follow-through gives project teams and trade partners fewer equipment issues to manage and helps reduce interruptions to the work. For clients, it means more people working together to reduce equipment-related interruptions.

When plans change or an equipment issue threatens to slow the work, project teams need one clear place to call.

RO Equipment Services takes it from there.
