A Virginia native and long-term resident of Texas, Derek Valz studied Electrical Engineering and Management of Information Systems at the University of Texas at Austin, before going on to attend SMU’s Dedman School of Law. At RO, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s compliance, risk management and legal functions.

In his free time, you will likely find him with his family, traveling, spending time outdoors, or coaching their sports teams. He enjoys rooting on the Texas Longhorns, and traveling to Austin to tailgate and attend the football games when he’s able.
