Baylor Scott & White Temple Specialty Treatment Center Renovation reshaped level 1 in the STC building into a new 20-bed Universal Care Unit. The work began with a full demolition and asbestos remediation of the first floor, followed by the build-back of patient rooms, nurse stations, clean utilities, office space, and updated IDF closets. The project also included a complete shutdown and transfer of five automatic transfer switches to new and updated equipment on the ground floor, plus 75 separate utility shutdowns coordinated with Baylor Scott & White and a separate contractor performing ground-floor work in parallel. To keep manpower and materials away from the main hospital entrances, RO erected an exterior stair tower and dance floor that opened a dedicated site access path, reducing safety risk to staff, patients, and visitors. The result is a modern, patient-centered care unit that fits seamlessly into the continuum of care at the BSW Temple campus.
