The Austin Media Center

The Austin Media Center transformed the former Dillard’s department store at Highland Mall into a creative hub serving Austin Community College, Austin PBS, and the surrounding community. RO renovated the building into a 187,000 SF, four-level facility housing office and administrative space for ACC, and added a new 27,000 SF studio and support wing for Austin PBS. The new wing houses the largest 12G broadcasting facility in the country. 

Designed as a community gathering place, the campus features an event lawn between the two buildings where film, music, and art bring neighbors together. The result is a dynamic, community-first environment that reflects the values of today’s ACC Highland Campus and Austin PBS.
