The AMD project is a first-generation lab and office fit-out encompassing 145,000 SF. This highly technical build was designed to deliver state-of-the-art lab spaces, enhancing the company’s semiconductor manufacturing and testing infrastructure. Key site work includes new Austin Energy electrical infrastructure and transformers, below-grade loading docks, and associated hardscape and landscaping.
The offices and amenity spaces feature a clean, modern design that emphasizes the integration of people and technology. To support the facility, a Central Utility Plant housing a chilled water system, chillers, and cooling towers was constructed. Structural improvements to the existing joists and deck were completed to accommodate 175,000 pounds of additional RTUs.
Phase 1 of the project included installing a compressed dry air system and IT infrastructure to support over 300 lab benches. RO, in collaboration with its electrical trade partner, provided a custom-built switchgear solution, addressing electrical gear lead time issues and reducing the project schedule by nearly three months.
