T.A. Brown Elementary

TA Brown Elementary School is a newly modernized, state-of-the-art campus that replaced the previous facility, closed in 2016 due to significant structural deficiencies. The school marked Austin ISD’s first-ever design-build project, setting a benchmark for innovative and efficient project delivery.

Designed to accommodate more than 500 students, the campus reflects 21st-century learning principles with a focus on environmental stewardship and sustainability. A “living lab” serves as a hands-on educational environment for students to engage with sustainable practices and environmental learning. The facility achieved LEED Silver certification and earned a 2-star rating under the Austin Energy Green Building program.
